Beauty and the Beast: Mashed Potatoes
Mashed Potatoes are a natural with any steak, but it is even more so with Steak Diane as the potatoes pick up the flavor of the sauce.
- 2 Baking Potatoes
- 2 T butter
- 1-2 T Milk or Half and Half or Cream
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- Potato Masher or Potato Ricer
- Peeler or Paring Knife
Peel the potatoes.
Cut them into 1" slices.
Boil the potatoes for approximately 10 minutes, or until cooked through.
Drain the water.
Return the potatoes to the pot.
Mash the potatoes.
Add 2 T or more of butter. Continue mashing.
Add 1-2 T of milk or half and half to the potatoes.
Mash until a creamy consistency is achieved.
